Football is our 2nd biggest sport and we regularly attract over 30 players to our Friday practises. We play 3 different formats football, 5-aside, 7-aside and more recently 11-aside. We also have a separate over-34s session.
We play 7-aside football for most of the year as it is the most popular format of football amongst our players. Our regular sessions on Fridays attract up-to 4 teams with ages ranging from 16 to 40 years. We hold regular internal tournaments as well participate in external tournaments. To join our sessions or for more information please email Secretary@masoomin.org
5-aside football is another popular format amongst our members and sessions are seasonal, usually a few weeks before the annual MAMT festival. We regularly enter 4-5 teams and MAMT and our A team has finished as runners-up for the last two years. We also organise internal 5-aside tournaments each year as a way of promoting football within our community.
The Over-34s session was setup in 2016 as a an alternative to the competitive football sessions. This session is aimed at players who just want to play for fun, keep fit and socialise with others. The session has been very successful and has attracted over 20 regular players. In 2017, Masoomin SC entered 3 Over-34s team at MAMT and finished as runners-up. If you would like to join the session please contact our Secretary on Secretary@masoomin.org
In August 2018, Masoomin SC entered the Division 1 of the Birmingham and Sandwell 11-aside Communities League. This is a league sanctioned by the Birmingham County FA and includes various teams from around Birmingham. The matches are played once a month at a central location, Saltley Leisure Centre. Please check our website regularly for up to date fixture list and results.
